The Traditional Budo Federation of Portugal has successfully brought the organization of the European Championship for the discipline to our country, which will take place in October, following the global congress of ITKF Global. Given this discipline’s significant influence and tradition in Vila do Conde, we would be thrilled for this European Championship to be hosted in this city again, 22 years after the Euro 2001 took place.
The European Traditional Budo Championship will take place between October 26th and 28th, 2023. The hosting of this international event resulted from a bid by the Traditional Budo Federation of Portugal, during the world championship that took place in Slovenia in November 2022. We believe that the city of Vila do Conde and its Sports Pavilion are excellent venues for hosting international sports events. The competition will be held under the auspices of ITKF EUROPE and ITKF GLOBAL, committing to analyzing the feasibility of hosting long-term events, such as the World Championship in 2024.
